Date: 22nd January 2020
Location: Stapleford, Cambridge
Problem: Rotten fascias and soffits.
Solution: Old rotten timbers (and birds' nests) removed. New uPVC fascia, soffits guttering, eave trays and bird combs fitted.
Description
When the homeowner purchased this property in Stapleford, the survey stated that the fascias were showing signs of rot and needed replacing.
Three local roofing companies were asked to quote for this work and, even though we weren't the lowest quote, Browns Roofing was chosen.
When we inspected the roofline, it was clear that the fascia and soffit area was badly damaged. Upon stripping and clearing away the rotten timbers, we discovered several old and abandoned birds' nests.
Once the old fascia, soffits and guttering had been removed, we cut back the F1 felt by approximately one metre from the eaves and installed new eave trays and bird combs.
We then set to work installing Rosewood fascias, white soffits, guttering and downpipes to the front and back of the property and also to the lower part of the garage.
The work took a total of 2 days and we made sure that the outside of the property was left clear and clean of debris before leaving.
