Overcladding Causes Problems for a Homeowner in Histon, Cambridge

Problem: Gable end falling off.

Description

The worried homeowner called us to inspect her bungalow's roof because of concerns over the gable end. Upon inspection, we could see that the gable end had been overcladded and the wood was now rotten.

We stripped off the first row of tiles, gable end, and supplied new timbers. Next, we relaid new under-cloaking on both sides, relaid the tiles, re-pointed the verge with new mortar and supplied/ installed new uPVC barge boards on the gable end.

Finally, we replaced the fascias at the front of the property.

The work took 1 day.
