Date: 3rd March 2022.
Location: Cherry Hinton, Cambridge.
Problem: Disintergrating undercloaking.
Solution: New undercloaking laid.
Description
We received a call from an old customer of ours. Browns Roofing had carried out some work for him back in 2015.
This time he needed our services because the gable end *undercloaking was disintegrating at the rear of his property.
First, we erected scaffolding. The team then stripped off the gable end together with the tiles and laid new undercloaking.
We then filled the void with expandable foam.
Next, we repointed the gable end with new mortar and reinstated the ridge tiles.
The work took 2 days to complete.
After we finished, the next-door neighbour (whose property was a mirror image) asked us to do the same job for him. We were happy to oblige!
*Undercloaking is sheet material (about 6mm thick) that overhangs the wall under the tiles; it can be made of Asbestolux or, more often these days, cement board.
